Cindy Utzinger OTR/L - Founder
Leading the way at Building Write Foundations, Cindy is an Occupational Therapist with 13 years of experience. She has spent those years working with people of all ages (newborn to 100), in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, patient’s homes, and rehab facilities. Cindy earned her degree in Occupational Therapy from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She is a member of NCOTA and is Hand Writing Without Tears certified.
While She has helped people across the age spectrum, Cindy has a passion for working with children. She is certified in Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum and is just as adept at applying it in a clinic setting as well as privately to help children who are struggling with their handwriting.
She has a principal belief that a large number of children, these days, are struggling with immature sensory systems which leads to behavior problems, struggles in the classroom, difficulty forming relationships, and overall struggles with daily performance.
Applying her years of experience and this belief, Cindy has also developed a highly effective pediatric program, which focuses on helping children with developmental delays and sensory processing deficits. “I have seen that by exposing children to great amounts of sensory input, we can help children find success in these areas and boost their self-esteem.”
As the founder of Building Write Foundations, Cindy brings a great deal of experience, knowledge and expertise to the company. But more importantly, she is a wife and mother to 2 wonderful children. “Being a mother and trying to raise my kids to be wonderful little humans has led me to a passion for helping children.”
